Undergraduate Placement

Locations: Stevenage & Bristol

Start date: September 2009

Are you looking for an industrial year placement and have you completed a minimum of two years of your degree course? If you can answer yes to both these questions MBDA can offer you a superb opportunity to gain valuable work experience on our one-year undergraduate programme. There’s no better way to get an insight into our business than by spending time at the heart of it, and this placement can count towards a professional qualification, lead to final year sponsorship and a place on one of our graduate schemes after university.

The placement is a structured programme of work experience, complete with competitive salary, benefits, training, development and a professionally qualified mentor. Wherever you join us, you’ll get to make a major contribution to a project, and your professional and personal development.

Available mainly in our Technical & Engineering and Operations Directorates, you should have a minimum of 240 UCAS points* and be studying towards a minimum 2:1 Honours Degree ideally in one of the following disciplines; Engineering (electrical, mechanical, systems, software, aeronautical, aerospace) Maths, Physics or similar.

Alternatively we offer undergraduate years within our Commercial function, and ideally would be looking for you to be studying a business related degree and be heading towards a 2:1 Honours qualification.

It’s a challenging environment but the various elements included in your programme will help you to succeed.

  • Prior to joining you will be allocated a ’buddy’ who’ll provide informal advice and guidance.
  • On commencing employment you will attend a comprehensive induction that explains the full scope of what we do.
  • Many of our engineering programmes are recognised by professional institutes including IMechE, IET, Institute of Physics, Royal Aeronautical Society and SEMTA.
