Reservoir Support Engineer

(Suitable for Mathematics/Physics or Engineering Masters Graduate.)

Job Specification:

Support engineers are required to strengthen the worldwide support (pre and post sales) of our market leading reservoir modeling and simulation application, Eclipse. Candidates will be required to undergo 6 months of extensive training in our Abingdon Technology Centre in Oxfordshire, UK. On successful completion of the training period, candidates will be placed in one of our support offices throughout the world. Therefore, a willingness and interest to travel and relocate will be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be required to understand and solve problems that users experience in using the software. They must be capable of presenting their work to knowledgeable scientific and engineering audiences and of clearly summarizing it for non-experts. The product is a market leader, and the team has been steadily growing over the past few years.

The successful applicant will be required to collaborate with other groups, hence a good team worker is required for this role, somebody who will be able to interact with several people in the organization.

Job Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel and relocate.
  • Good communication skills.

Knowledge of, or ability in, the following would be advantageous (though not necessary):

  • Fortran programming.
  • Petroleum Engineering.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Scientific/engineering Masters Degree, preferably in Mathematics or Physics.
  • 0-3 years experience in a commercial scientific or engineering environment or a similar time in post-doctoral mathematical/scientific work.
